In recent years, the LED electronic display market is very popular, driving the entire LED display industry into a high-speed growth stage. However, due to factors such as price, the market share of this kind of high-performance display screen driver IC is still not high so far, most of the applications in the market are basic models (such as accumulation of 5024/26, etc.), and high-end products are mainly used in some LED screen rental markets that pay more attention to quality.
However, with the rapid development of the current LED display market, more and more users have begun to put forward a series of complex requirements for LED screens, such as visual effects, transmission methods, display methods, and playback methods. This also makes LED screen products face a new opportunity for technological innovation, and as the "brain" of the overall display system-LED driver IC will play an important role.
The data transmission between the LED screen and the motherboard generally adopts the serial data transmission mode (SPI), and then transmits the display data and the control data synchronously through the signal packet multiplexing technology, but in the case of the refresh rate and resolution improvement, it is easy to cause the bottleneck of data transmission, resulting in the instability of the system. In addition, when the area of the LED screen is large, the control line is often very long, which is susceptible to electromagnetic interference and affects the quality of the transmitted signal.
Although some manufacturers have introduced new transmission media in recent years, how to provide users with truly excellent performance and cost-effective product solutions is a key issue that plagues the industry. To this end, some manufacturers put forward that the data transmission mode of LED display needs to start from the lowest level of technology to find an innovative solution.
It is worth noting that the LED screen technology innovation has involved all aspects of the industry chain, including the improvement of the drive IC manufacturing process, the hardware of the control system, the intelligent development of the control software, etc. These technological innovations require IC design manufacturers and control System developers, panel manufacturers, even end users, etc. are more closely integrated to break the "deadlock" of industry applications ". Especially in the development of control systems, how to better cooperate with IC design companies to improve the system performance of LED screens and the level of intelligence of control software is a top priority.
